Carbon neutral is all about trying to balance out the amount of carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change) we produce, by removing or offsetting the same amount of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
First up, we have the bosses over at AT&T who have committed to being carbon neutral by 2035. Woah, that sounds like a long time away, but trust me, it’s not. They’re making all sorts of changes to make sure they can reach this goal – from using renewable energy sources (like solar and wind power), to changing up how their buildings are designed to be more energy-efficient.
But the best part? You can help too! According to AT&T, if you upgrade to a new device today, they’ll plant one tree on your behalf. Yup, you heard that right -one TREE. Not only will you have the latest and greatest technology, but you’ll also be planting a tree and helping to reduce carbon emissions. Who knew being eco-friendly could be so easy AND so cool?!
Next up, we have the folks over at swrm. And let me tell you, they’ve got this whole carbon-neutral thing down pat. In fact, they’ve created a whole guide on how to live a carbon-neutral life. Talk about taking the bull by the horns!
So, what are some tips swrm has for us regular folk? Well, they recommend trying to use public transportation, walking, or biking if possible (not like the current state of things allow that), eating a plant-based diet, and considering using reusable products like glass straws and recyclable coffee cups.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, “But I don’t have a glass straw or a recyclable coffee cup!”. Fear not, my friend!
